"Don't go out, put it back, you're reading from the bible black."

Yeah.

I wish Geezer would've written the lyrics.

I like the music, for the most part though. Pretty much what I'd expect.

How awesome would it have been if Geezer (or even Dio) wrote the lyrics about the porno...

They certainly acquire a new fanbase from 4chan.

I'll wait for the album. I know I'll love it.

Sign of the Southern Cross is overrated. It's still a great song, but there are easily a half dozen or more Dio-Sabbath songs that I like considerably more.

I wouldn't say it's their best track, but it's up there. This and the 3 that came out on the greatest hits album don't really do much for me though.

They definitely sound their age, but it's not bad at all. The best thing that could come out of the new album is a handful of songs that won't kill the vibe when they play em live.

Dio does not sound 66. The average person collecting social security can not sing like that.

Ok besides Dio The music sounds a tad geriatric though. Obviously can't expect them to come out raging though, it's good for its time.

What's that really have to do with anything? Most folks collecting Social Security probably never could sing that great anyways, otherwise they'd probably be leaving off their royalties, eh?

At any rate, it's definitely possible to tell Dio's voice has aged. The best comparison is to the listen to the last album this collection of individuals put out: Dehumanizer.

Dio's voice is by no stretch bad, but it's aged noticeably, as one would expect with the lapse in time. And considering it's been, what, almost 30 years since Heaven & Hell was released? Dio's gonna sound older, even if he doesn't sound 66 (and for the record, what does a 66 year old sound like?)

My only wish for this album is that I hope it has some strong songwriting, and some variety. I know the performances will be strong, but if it's more of the usual: mid-tempo to slow chunky songs, well... that's not exactly the most exciting prospect in the world. Not that it won't have something to enjoy on it, but I hope there's some good rockers as well. And I hope the album has more substance than the three songs included on The Dio Years...
