I'm a fan of any team in the AL East that isn't the Yankees or Sox.
No doubt. After seeing the Giants do so well with a lineup full of retreads it gives one hope. Granted the Al Beast is a monster compared to the NL West but it can happen. Look at Tampon Bay...

We're gonna score. I'm just hoping the pitching can hold up. Zach Britton is the real deal Holyfield! With our Ace Matusz hurt he filled in nicely so far.

Opening Day in Baltimore is always one of the parties of the year. Usually by Game 3 it's back to 10K people in the stands. Here's hoping this year will be different...

And a ton of pitching...
The NL West is tougher that it looks cause the Giants, Rockies, Padres and Dodgers all beat up on each other for most of the season.

Any word on the Giants fan who is in a coma from being beat up by Dodgers fans Opening Day? Apparently those thugs took the whole "beat up" thing to the extreme. Totally sucks.

Yeah SF had a great staff last year but I can't recall a lineup that weak winning it all in decades. 2 Oriole Retreads along with a Pirate Retread and Torres thinking he was Carl Crawford? I guess you have to call it great coaching more than anything...

Actually, they were pretty representative of how a relatively poor (in comparison to the Phillies and Yankees of the MLB) baseball team can win the World Series. It's simple.

They have DYNAMITE pitching.
Their hitting got hot at the right time.

When the Giants hit like that, they aren't going to lose, but they don't hit like that very often.

Also, this is a little bit awkward, we're 1-4...

Still, 157 games are still to be played.

I know one team who's (convincingly) 4-0 so far...

TonyD my condolences on Posey. Sick injury. Seeing the cards have been riddled with injuries the whole season I can sympathize with losing Wainwright for the year.

I was there, after seeing the replays the guy definitely went straight for Posey and would have been better off trying to avoid the tag by going around anyway. Losing him sucks but the way it happened just made it unbearable.

The reds have been breaking my heart this season. I guess it is more frustrating when expectations are high

Seconded. Here's hoping they rage back after the All Star break, because really, they're not that far out of first.
