I'm not actually defending Varg. But as an emblem, and a symbol of the 90s Norwegian black metal scene's excesses (not to mention as an example of the leniency of their prison system), he's an interesting character.

Hm. Whatever. I don't know enough about the whole Gorgoroth drama to really comment on what it will mean for the future of the band, but they've always been peripheral anway. And as for Varg, I really couldn't care less about him. I don't want him to put out another Burzum album, ESPECIALLY not one that would try to sound like old Burzum, as he's hinted at in interviews (and after all the dumb shit he's said over the years about guitars being "nigger instruments", etc.).
