Iron Maiden -- Bogota, Columbia -- March 7th, 2009
Great gig, it was some sort of a festival, that started with tow local bands, then we had to watch Lauren Harris, as if has come to a mandatory act before every Iron Maiden performance, and after that good stuff.
First ANTHRAX!. I guess it is one of their first gigs with Dan Nelson and i Have to say, Dan Nelson kicks ass!!!! I didn't really miss Joey B at all now. Great voice, better performance they play songs from the 80s, 90s and their new anthems. ANTHRAX Indians Got The Time Madhouse What doesn't Die Antisocial Caught in a mosh Only I am the law Great gig, and since the last time i saw them on 2003, i just have to say the keep rocking, and as IAN said during the show "Mi español no es muy bueno pero mi metal es grandioso!" "my Spanish is not good, but my metal is GREAT! Short but amazing. BTW Thank God John Bush is out now. Dan Nelson fucking rule! Then it was time for Iron Maiden, after just one year, they came again and it was just a little disappointing that they have nothing different to offer from the other gigs in the tour dough the show was great, lots of fireworks, great sound and 20000 metal headzzz jumping and singing. They started as usual in the last few tours with the Churchill's speech and a video from their upcoming movie followed by Aces High, Bruce told the audience that Colombia was going to be the main character in their movie and that they were really glad to come back in such a short time, and after that nothing different from any other "somewhere back in time world tour 2009" review. Bottom line, a great IRON MAIDEN gig (as always), and let me tell you I'm thinking about starting a Janick Gers appreciation society, I just love his performance! IRON MAIDEN Aces High Wrathchild 2 Minutes 2 Midnight The Trooper Children of The Dammed Phantom of the Opera Rime of the Ancient Mariner Powerslave Wasted Years Run to the Hills Fear of the Dark Hallowed be thy Name Iron Maiden ---Encore--- The Number of the Beast The Evil That Man Do Sanctuary daniel_bunuel, Bogotá, Colombia Last edited by daniel_bunuel; 03-08-2009 at 02:42 PM. |

I remember being a proud member of the Pro Janick Brigade on the IMBB.

No way is this set list better than the old one. I've already seen The Evil That Men Do and Wrathchild, Children of the Damned and Phantom of the Opera would be great but I wouldn't give up Moonchild, The Clairvoyant, and/or Heaven Can Wait for them. Sanctuary is a fun song, but again, I wouldn't give up a technically great song for it, especially since closing with Hallowed Be Thy Name is about the most epic thing ever.

I guess the best Iron Maiden Tour Ever was Gimme Ed Till I´m Dead European Tour on 2003, but this one is one of the better shows i've seen.
