Well, no, I described exactly what I was proud of in the sentence that you chopped out of my post, where I mentioned the non-mainstream nature of Cynic and Genghis Tron and the non-metalness of Fleet Foxes, which I felt proved that the board isn't just a bunch of whores for, say, Revolver and Metal-rules.com. I guess in the same breath I should be proud that Firewind and Pyramaze made it because I suppose they aren't very well-known either. All I meant by it.

I'm never really interested in final top 10, because it's usually pretty predictable. The real fun is reading everyone's personal lists and threads like the ones Brady and Brad make.

Elaborated thoughts:

1. Hm, I voted them my #1 also, so I'm pretty happy with this. It fits.
2. An alright album. I have no clue how it would place so high (or at all even), but I guess I wouldn't be enraged.
3. I liked it. I wouldn't have placed it so high, but I guess that was bound to happen. At least it didn't win.
4. I feel the same about this as I did about the Amon Amarth album.
5. Didn't really like it myself, but I kinda understand the appeal. Good choice for the top 10.
6. Kinda surprised by this one. I only heard a few songs and geh.... I don't like it at all. Honestly, I can't get the appeal of this. Boring.
7.

I feel like this made it because it had Barlow and didn't absolutely suck (*cough*icedearth*cough*). As I just said, I don't think it sucked, but eh...
8. I liked the album. I don't really get how it's top 10 material but it doesn't offend me since so many of you guys love it anyway.
9. Okay, this band blows. What the fuck.
10. Pretty glad the album placed, I liked it.

I definitely think this poll is a very accurate representation of what the board IN GENERAL was listening to as far as new albums in 2008, and that's what it's purpose is so I think it's pretty trivial to worry about if your favorites made it or not, cuz I mean everyone basically knows what everyone listens to anyways since this board is so small.

Indeed. I mean, the only way someone would be perfectly happy with the list would be if their top 10 WAS the list. Which is never gonna happen. So it's just more of an interesting thing to look at than any kind of a definitive guide.
