Yeah..Porcupine Tree fucking rules. In fact, it should have been one. But Tegan and Sara? ha.

I feel like I should inform them of their triumphant victory over the forces of power metal via Myspace

We're celebrating a pop album in the top ten albums of the year? On a metal music forum?

It's top 10 albums of the year, not top 10 metal albums of the year.

It may shock you, but not everyone here listens to metal 24 hours a day. I listened to quite a few metal albums this year, many of which were awesome, but at the end of the day The Con was more interesting, unique and creative than any of them. I fail to see the problem here.

Interesting, maybe. Unique and creative, no. I have heard that style of music done by ALOT of bands. Nothing special about them.

It's also a tightly-knit community of very few members who have grown and evolved together musically. We don't have enough members to only talk about metal here. We talk about music. It just happens that most of us listen to metal more so than other things.

I find that hard to believe, seeing as I listen to a lot more of this kind of stuff than you do, and there definitely are not many bands who sound like them, especially the more experimental songs.
