I'm pretty much a standard-tuning guy. I'll playing in E flat, D-standard, or Drop C to play along to stuff for fun, but when it comes to writing my own stuff, I stick to standard mostly. I have written a couple of things in Drop D, but don't get too hung up on it. Tuning down is really overrated in my opinion, and if you know the right tricks, you can make standard tuning sound really heavy on its own. Occasionally I'll play in Open D tuning when I play acoustic, but that's about it.

I designed my own presets. Most of the signature tones are by musicians I care nothing about, and in general I really just don't want to get hung up on having someone else's guitar sound. I am incredibly proud of my own sounds, and prefer them to anything that came standard on the amp. Some of the song presets and whatnot are fun to screw around with though.

My new band's songs are all in C standard so I'm in that a lot, or D standard. And when I give lessons I'm always in standard

On the discussion of Spider III presets, I use the "For The Love Of God" tone with the delay taken off and the channel volume put to max. And on the discussion of tunings, I mainly use Eb/Drop C# nowadays. I used to use D/Drop C alot, but I kinda killed it. On my other guitar I just put on some thicker strings so I tune that down to B standard.

String Gauges : 10s for E-D, 11s for C-B (12s would be way better, though). I keep my guages fairly light. I used to use 10s for C#/Drop B lol.

I do 11-13-18-30-42-52. Not too heavy, but still not light. It's how I like to roll, bitches.
edit: I never really tune any lower than C# standard on any of the strings, so it manages to work out usually.
