Yes, rather late, one could say, but i could always invoke "late bloomer" if need be.

my friends that i've introduced the game to are about as obsessed as i am with it and we've been multiplayer-ing at least once a week.

ugh, i want to play these new games (dead space, fallout 3, farcry 2, crysis, left 4 dead, etc.) over winter break but id need to build a new pc to run them, and that would cost around $1000. im gonna see if i can do monthly payments or something.

I'm in the middle of like four RPGs right now.

At home on my wii, I'm in the middle of Super Mario RPG and the new Tales of Symphonia game (which probably sucks unless you happen to love the first one, which I do and like this game for). Out here in school I only play on emulators - on which I've been playing Final Fantasy VII and Pokemon Leafgreen significantly. This makes me feel like an absurd loser.

I've also been (not so much anymore now that I've beaten it and don't want to revisit it right away) this Wiiware game, World Of Goo. For $15 it was pretty incredible. Very creative, fun, and cute puzzle/physics game.

Can I interpret this to mean that you equate fantasy with faggotry?

Just forget about Crysis and get an xbox 360 arcade.

forget about crysis? blasphemy!

besides, after you buy an xbox, controllers, Live, games, etc. it gets to be pretty close to what you'd spend on a decent pc anyway. plus pc can do a million and one more things, and all the software, games, music, movies, etc on a pc are free. its also upgradable and you dont get red ring of death or scratched disks.

consoles ftl

XBox 360 Arcade: $200
20 GB harddrive (on eBay): $40
Extra controller: $50
4 of the games you listed ($50 each, although you can probably find them used for cheaper): $200
13 month Live membership: $50

Total: $540

Still well under what you'd be paying for a good PC.

And I don't get why you have upgrading listed as a plus. Console generations are usually around for quite a while, and PC games advance faster in terms of their system requirements. You might find yourself having to get a new video card twice over the period of time that someone is playing the same stuff on a console without having to do anything. And I think consoles have gotten advanced enough that PCs don't have such a huge advantage in the graphics department anymore.

well if youre comparing it to a pc the 360 elite is more on the same level, and thats $400, which means u dont need the 20gb harddrive then, so the total price would be $720.

i look at it as people need a computer anyway, which the average person might spend anywhere from 200-600 dollars on. so it makes more sense to just make your pc able to run games. Even if you get a good deal on a decent computer and then factor in the cost of the 360, or other console, it will be around $1000, which is what it costs to build a decent gaming pc.

i think upgrading is a plus because you can swap out certain parts instead of having to scrap the whole unit for a next gen console when it comes out. Some parts of a pc are a one time buy, cases - power supply - cd rom drives - harddrives - monitor/keyboard/mouse. So when it comes time to get a new pc its alot cheaper than the first time you bought it because you have alot of the parts already. You can also overclock your hardware on a pc to get more bang out of your parts. You could buy a Q6600 2.4ghz processor for $150 and overclock it to 3.0ghz and it will be able to handle most games for awhile to come so you wont need to buy a new one as soon. not to mention you can mod pc games to increase their replay value, and you dont have to pay for the new game content like you do on Live.

but to be fair the downside of using a PC for games is that you have to spend alot of time getting to learn all the technical information on how to build it and what parts will work with what other parts, etc. instead of a console which is good to go right out of the box with no hassle.
