the closer to the start of a show or after the show has started, scalpers start lowering their prices. They have to cut their losses or risk being stuck with tickets.

I got a $70 ticket to Heaven and Hell for $40 because the concert had already started. No big deal. I still caught the tail end of Megadeth and got to see all of H&H.
