Yeah the class seems really, really cool. Oh, maybe you can help me with this...I have to pick one of these three topics for a term paper and I'm having trouble picking one.

The topics are:

* Treatment of common themes that run through the various tales within Chaucer's " Tales Of Canterbury. "

* Compare the philosophies of the three mathematicians Pythagoras, Plato, and Archimedes.

* Comparison of the three dominant philosophies of Rome: Stoicism, Epicureanism, and Neoplatonism.

I was leaning towards choice three but I'm not sure.

Choice three looks easiest and least interesting. So it depends on what you want out of your term paper experience. I'd go for choice one or two.

As for me, I'm not taking a class this semester but I'm teaching a bit:

Writer-in-residence at Ann Arbor Open School, teaching poetry writing to fifth and sixth graders.

Program Advisor for the Short Story Workshop at the Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor, teaching fiction writing to high school students.

And then there's this workshop I may be doing for 826michigan involving poetry plus buses.

We'll see. I don't want to stray into that territory if I can help it. But I do have ideas for a separate HarryPotter-themed poetry workshop to do in the near future.

It's interesting that they count Chaucer as "ancient world". Anyway, I'd probably pick choice three if it were me, but it's really up to you, the other two choices are totally worthwhile as well.

Mind you, if it fills your final year with easy shit...
