His work ethic is beyond that of any other baseball player ever, steroids are not magic pills, you still have to work your ass off, and if it was so easy then why is he the only one putting up such astronomical numbers and remaining consistent even now after almost everyone has stopped doing it. You cant compensate for skill by using steroids, sure he bulked up, but dont tell me it wasnt a level playing field because at least 75% of the players were doin it, and he only started after he saw he would have to step his game up to compete in the 90s with guys popping 50 homers a year hardly breaking a sweat. He was the MVP, the games best player, and suddenly he wasnt getting his due because other guys started putting up big numbers aided by steroids. People look for an edge in sports, in business, in everything, some way to be better than the next guy, bottom line. What used to be spitballs and corked bats in baseball is now steroids; its the same difference. Guys have to train harder now and keep themselves in better shape the way the game has changed. Pitchers were on it too mind you. Besides seems more than a little hypocritical to care now when and make Barry the scapegoat after everyone cheered McGwire and Sosa, and look they arent catching any grief now. Why? Because theyre nowhere right now, and Barry is still doing it, a testament to his amazing longevity. People watch baseball and sports to be entertained, and these athletes go beyond the limit to push themselves to perform at such a level; let em take whatever they want, let them suffer whatever consequences may come from it, its their choice. The Barry Bonds witch hunt thing is ridiculous and really pisses me off.
