Tesla -- Allentown, PA -- July 7th, 2007
Alright, last night was my 5th time seeing Tesla. Yeah I know, a lot of times, but they tour regularly and never dissapoint.
I attended with my sister and good friend Kalin, my band's drummer. We arrived around 5 and waited in line and talked to some people for almost 2 hours. Doors opened around 7, and the first band went on around 8. There were two opening bands, both on tour with Tesla, not local. First band was called Poets and Pornstars. Not my thing but I'll say they were good at what they were doing. It was basically straight forward "rock and roll", like a modern day AC/DC type thing. Not interesting but not bad to sit through. Second band was Eve to Adam, a more modern hard rock sounding band, not too far away from something you might hear on rock radio today. They also were pretty good, the singer was somewhat annoying though. They covered Billy Idol's Rebel Yell. Other than that, I can't give a set list for the opening bands, but they both played a little over a half hour. Tesla came on at about 10:30, and even though they were supporting their new covers album, it surprised me that they chose to open with a cover. Overall, I thought song selection was good but the order of songs was poorly chosen. New guitarist Dave Rude fits the band like a glove, and audio-wise replaces Tommy Skeoch perfectly. The rest of the band was rockin as always, you can always tell they have a lot of fun playing, especially Frank Hannon, who had a hat or two to sport throughout the show, along with some new guitars. All in all, I felt it was an excellent show and I got 3 picks and a set list. Set List: Rock Bottom Edison's Medicine Thank You Modern Day Cowboy Little Suzie Lazy Days, Crazy Nights Acoustic Guitar Solo Love Song What You Give Into the Now Comin Atcha Live (w/ extended guitar solos) Stealin' Bad Reputation Heaven's Trail (No Way Out) Song and Emotion Heaven 911 Drum Solo I Just Wanna Make Love to You / Signs Mama's Fool |

Thanks for the set list. Looks pretty good to me. I am glad that they added Heaven Nine Eleven back in there. They dropped that song the last time we saw them. We are going to see them next Tuesday in Indianapolis.
