Here is how I look at it:

After the Alice in Chains set, we drive home and make it back before 2:00 a.m. for a change! Something to think about.

I'm actually looking at the Slayer/ Marilyn Manson show the same way. If Slayer goes on first then great, I can stay for the whole show, then leave afterwards and give Manson one less person in the audience to perform to.

People really need to lay off the whole "headliner credibility" thing (inclduing myself cos I think I've done it here in the past), it really is stupid shit that means nothing at the end of the day. I mean, Maiden opened up for Sabbath, but who do you think was the band that people raved about more?

Yeah, you can say it's petty and meaningless, and maybe it is. But even thinking pragmatically, openers get less set time, and that sucks.

I took that into consideration, but with a "twin headliner" shouldn't both bands get the same set times?

I'm glad it isn't coming close so I don't feel obligated to go despite my love for AIC.
