Seeing as I'm the resident stats nerd/polling dude, I'll give what the site list would be based only on these and even though it's only June.

1. Pig Destroyer- Phantom Limb
2. Clutch- From Beale Street to Oblivion
3. Rwake- Voices of Omens
4. Municipal Waste- The Art of Partying
5. Type O Negative- Dead Again
6. Mayhem- Ordo Ad Chao
7. Lots tied with 9

This list means nothing

That album is fantastic. I absolutely love it and think it's one of their best.

Just to throw out my , I thought State of Grace was a pretty great opener but the rest of the album just kind of floated by without getting my attention.

Not in this country it didn't. Or any of the other territories where it came out on Nuclear Blast. January 22, 2007 here.

Because after four albums of advancement and steps forward, Inner Sanctum is Saxon-by-numbers. Formulaic and ultimately very boring. Horrible lyrics as well.

If I Was You works well live, and Red Star Falling is good (even better live), but come on... "I've Got To Rock To Stay Alive"?

Actually, why am I bothering retyping all this. You can read it all here: http://jukebo.cx/archives/2007/03/04...inner-sanctum/

Bear in mind while reading that I'm a big Saxon fan.

What about Ashes to Ashes? Yes, I've Got To Rock To Stay Alive is very lame, but they have one of those lame rocker Ac/dc style songs on almost every album.

It's alright. Still pretty by-the-numbers, though. It's all that "backs to the wall", "never surrender", "together we fall" stuff they've had in 174 other Saxon songs.
