Wherever it comes out first is the year it counts for. So it's legit.

Good to hear... if it's anything like the last two albums I'm sure I'll thoroughly enjoy it. Gonna order it along with one or two other things in about 2-3 weeks.

Yeah, the new Gamma Ray doesn't officially come out till November 16th I believe, in Europe anyway, but I had my friend just download it for me since I didn't feel like waiting and I'm sure to pick it up anyway.
I think it's a fantastic album, and a big improvement over Majestic, in terms of both songwriting and production. It's definately a bit of a return to the more traditional Gamma Ray sound present on the albums like the original Land of the Free and others from the mid-to-late 90s. I plan on writing a full length review of it in the Album Reviews section within the next couple of days, but for now all I'm gonna say is that I'm very impressed and content with it as I'm sure any fan would be.

I have the Gamma Ray disc at home. Only played it once, but it's definitely a cool album.

Mid-November is correct for Europe.

If anyone is jonesin' for some kickass classic heavy/power metal, the new Slough Feg is absolute dynamite. I'd recommend that over the Helloween myself, though I think "Gambling With The Devil" is pretty cool in its own right.

I feel kinda confident about this:

1. Porcupine Tree- Fear of a Blank Planet
2. Between the Buried and Me- Colors
3. Clutch- From Beale Street to Oblivion
4. Pig Destroyer- Phantom Limb
5. Rwake- Voices of Omens
6. Novembers Doom- The Novella Reservoir
7. Blackfield- Blackfield II
8. 3 Inches of Blood- Fire Up the Blades
9. Explosions in the Sky- All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
10. Porcupine Tree- Nil Recurring

Biggest honorable mentions to Skeletonwitch- Beyond the Permafrost and Type O Negative- Dead Again

EDIT: But it's also really hard to exclude Sonata Arctica, and the new Behold...the Arctopus was damn good on first listen. Damn, this list could use some rethinking.
