DIMMU BORGIR - New Video Online and New Album Avialable for Streaming

watch the video for the new song here

a very professional video imo, they probably got a lot of money to do it.

the video seems to center around the theme of the etire album which follows the story of a monk-in-training during the middle ages who loses his faith because of the horrors he witnesses being committed in the name of God.

apparently the new album is out on april 24th . . . i hadnt heard anything about it

also, the entire new album "In Sorte Diaboli" is available for streaming here

i actually really like shagrath's vocals . . . and silenoz writes most of the music/lyrics so he is indespensible.

im listening to it right now . . . they have definitely moved into their own genre, but i really wish people would stop associating them with goth metal and cradle of filth.

btw here is the cover for the new album:

cmon . . . that is ridiculous and you know it. You may not like it, might even hate it, but it is not one of the worst albums you have ever heard. That is just childish hyperbole.

from what ive heard so far it is definitely not a very interesting album

I wish it was hyperbole, but it actually is revolting. To make sure I listened to Disturbed and Linkin Park after, and they both sounded better

What is stands for (the utter death of creativity and lapse into commercial complacency from a band who once released some of the most creative music at the time of its release) is really what irks me the most, musically yeah its completely standard orchestral metal with black metal vocals. But its so sickeningly cliche and predictable that it invokes that sort of reaction to me. Even Trivium is better than this.

I actually decided to punish my ears and I listened to The Serpentine Offering on their Myspace. It was pretty bad.
