Um, Conan the Barbarian much? I got excited when my friend told me there was a "viking movie" coming out, but this looks fucking dumb.

A) Conan the Barbarian is fucking awesome. The world needs more awesome barbarian movies.

B) The trailer looks simultaneously moronic and kickass. Should be a fun popcorn movie.

C) However -- why is it that the native tribes always need a white dude to save them? All their own warriors combined can't stand up to the vikings, but the 10-year old scrawny Scandinavian kid they rescue from the shipwreck is going to protect them single-handedly? Weak.

I believe, historically, the Indians (or Skraelings, as the Norsemen called them) put up a VERY good fight against the Vikings.
