I think people here (and probably elsewhere) have a hard time discerning between "conversational debate" and "random mockery." It can be a fine line sometimes. And then things go too far, people get mad, insults are hurled, people are banned, etc. Probably half of the times that ADD has been banned here have been caused by him defending the music he likes too passionately.

And I do agree with your point about basis for conversation. A Dashboard Confessional thread probably would not go far. If you really want to get Bouville and some of the others riled up, you can start a "debate" about Manowar. That would get heated real quick.

I don't really agree. What better place to slam Dio then a thread about Dio? It's not like I bring him up in other threads

2) There is a lot of screeching.
