I haven't read the book(s), but I liked the first two episodes once I figured out who everyone was and what was going on.

I read Song of Ice and Fire (first book) back in '02. I have Game of Thrones (second book). However, I have not got around to reading it yet. Most definitely, there are so many characters and locations it can be rather daunting to follow everything at times.

This, I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

I just thought it thought it was a lot cuter than it was. The pop culture references were not clever. The jokes were rarely funny. It definitely got better in the last twenty minutes where she's sort of forced to reckon with this big thing she did and it all falls apart on her, but as a whole I couldn't give it higher than about a C.
Stanley Tucci was GREAT, however.

Okay, I don't know if anyone else watched it, but last night's Office was fantastic, and the perfect way to send off Michael.

Didn't make me laugh, but it was a neat way to end his character. I was expecting something better, on caliber with the wedding episodes.

My ladyfriend ("not my special lady; my fuckin' ladyfriend, man") was bawling during it, and I'll admit I got pretty close. I've been watching the Office since the pilot so I came to feel like Michael was my boss to some degree, and I'm really sad to see him go. Sadder still to see the show continue though.
Thankfully Parks and Rec and 30 Rock followed the relative dreary Office with nonstop unserious hilarity.

I think Dwight's "uh-oh" at the end summed it up pretty well. You know, I'm a Will Ferrell apologist to some degree; I enjoy a lot of his stuff and I think he's funny. But he's been absolutely dreadful in this. His character is pointless, uninteresting, and practically brings the whole show to a screeching halt. Really, really glad that's only on for one more episode.
Parks & Rec was awesome. I automatically love any episode that features the bizarre townspeople or "Ya Heard With Perd."
