It's basically a fuckin' hardcore record, if it didnt say Sepultura on it I doubt many people would call it thrash. Actually, nevermind, I think its more of like a crossover thing, but still I hear way more hardcore influences than anything thrashy.

This is the one album I am still kicking my ass over not getting this year 'Songs of Grief & Solitude' was awesome though, and next year 'River of Tears' will destory too I'm sure. This band is G-E-N-I-U-S.

Some combination of Kisser's solos (he has the same tone on DXXI that he had for Chaos A.D., basically), the story of the Divine Comedy, the orchestration in Ostia and Still Flame, and Derrick Green's pretty decent singing voice made me love it.

Yeah, I only have it downloaded though, and I only heard it once. But it was that good.

I kept bugging Aquarius Records in SF to restock it, but apparently once they run out of the first few copies they get its a real bitch to get back in stock. I'll be on the ball when the new one comes out next year.
