Again I am reminded of why I don't like most of the people on this board.

I'm not saying that if I don't like something, it's not good, I am however saying that many of you people would never even listen to the majority of the albums on my list, just dismiss them, despite the possibly greatness of them. And before you say I'm the same about different music, I'm not.

I don't even know why I'm gonna bother posting a list on this board anyway, I think I'm the only one voting for 8 of 10 albums on my list.

And furthermore, I can't stand the people who only bought like 2 albums this year. If you're into metal, you can't POSSIBLY argue that there's nothing going on in metal these days. Personally, 2006 has been the hardest year for me to determine a top 10 since I've been listening to music extensively... There's tons of great stuff and tons of diversity. Believe it or not, metal didn't die at the end of the 80s.

Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, you can't deny that there's gonna be albums that other people have that you wouldn't have given a chance simply due to their genres, just as I'm sure some people would skip power metal for the sake of it being power metal.

And yeah to the last part about metal not being dead, sucks that some people will only buy the albums of a couple familiar faces.

I never said nothing was going on in metal, I just don't care.

Why do you automatically single me out and assume I'm talking about power metal? This year, the majority of my top albums aren't power metal albums.

Some people simply aren't that interested in new music. I know I'm not that interested in it. I'm more interested in old music I haven't heard yet. Like Brad said, different folks and strokes and tokes and whatever.

I would have bought more albums, but I would rather have gasoline in my car then a new CD in my clip.

...And if I told you to go out and listen to Hot Water Music, Jawbreaker, Sleater-Kinney, or None More Black, you probably wouldn't give a shit, despite the fact that all of those bands have put out incredibly important or outstanding albums. Po-ta-to, po-tah-to.

All but 3 or so of my top 10 are unlikely to be voted on by anyone else, but you don't hear me whining and bitching about it. Also, you seem to be complaining an awful lot about a list that you haven't even shared with everyone else yet, so how do you know how people are going to react?

I completely understand that. I wasn't talking about people who didn't buy anything cause they had a real reason not to, I was talking about the kind of people that whine and complain that there's nothing worthwhile going on in metal today.
