Thanks to evryone who replied! I was wondering because some numbnut on another board was saying that Maiden copied metallica by playing their whole new album live. I knew there were other bands who had done so before Metallica, I just wanted to be sure to be armed with the correct ammunition

The Maiden copying Metallica thing isn't even applicable. Metallica didn't play their new album live, they played Master of Puppets live cause it was the 20th Anniversary, also probably as attempt to regain some fans lost within the past several years, whereas Maiden actually played their new studio album live cause they were really proud of it and because it was so succesful upon release.

Dream Theater is one that comes easily to my mind for this question.
They've played: Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory (for an entire tour) When Dream and Day Unite (20th anniversary show) Darkside of the Moon The Number of the Beast Master of Puppets Almost albums: A Change of Seasons (Its an EP but they've played it all) Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (They played the entire title song which is over 42 minutes long) Octavarium (They played the entire title song which is 24 minutes) |
