First impressions:

-good raspy black metallish vocals
-solid riffs/good balance between fast and slower tempos
-amazing leads and solos
-unwhelming atmosphere for a supposed "Viking Metal" album
-memorable melodies with an appropriate amount of catchiness

Overall: good shit

they scheduled mixing at the studio in like august so thats whats holding them back

Strange that a band's "whole point" would to be not viking metal, but if you say so I figured that was kind of their 'schtick', I didn't know much of them before hearing this album anyways. But if you've got dudes from Ensiferum the viking thing is kind of implied.

the whole point of my interview i ment . . . he broke away from viking metal and could therefore expand his musical horizons. none of the lyrics are about vikings.

Personally I am a major fan of that kind of stuff, but for this particular band the lyrics and concepts don't matter anyways
