Hey there,
I caught the show 10/28/06 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, IL. Here are the setlists: Journey: Star Spangled Banner Stone In Love Ask The Lonely Wheel In The Sky Message Of Love Edge Of The Blade I'll Be Alright Without You Chain Reaction Lights Open Arms Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' Escape Dead Or Alive Faithfully Don't Stop Believin' Any Way You Want It Separate Ways Def Leppard: Let's Get Rocked Let It Go Foolin' Bringin' On The Heartbreak Make Love Like A Man Hysteria 20th Century Boy Rock On Rocket Photograph Armageddon It Animal Rock Of Ages Love Bites Pour Some Sugar On Me I went to this show to see Def Leppard. This was one of those shows that I have wanted to see, but again, didn't care if I missed it either. The day before the show, I scored two front row seats, so we went. All that I can say is that Journey stole the show. A month ago, I would have bet a fortune that I would never say that about Journey. I'm a huge deathmetal, grindcore, thrash, and of course Maiden fan. I was surprised at how talented these guys were and how great they worked the crowd. Def Leppard was good, not great. Bringin' on the Heartbreak was the highlight of their set and it was done well. I learned a few songs later that Rick Savage doesn't have any talent. He played a five minute bass solo, which felt like four hours. The solo sucked so bad that I got a pit in my stomach from feeling embarrassed for the guy. Let me say this, I would rather spend a day with a proctologist than have to sit through another Rick Savage solo. |

Agreed, I went to Journey last year here in NYC, and they were absolutely amazing. The new singer is great and Neil Schon is a phenom. When I find the setlist from that I'll post it tomorrow. They played covers and all their hits, and almost the entire Escape album.
Just so you know where I come from I am an old school metal guy who likes modern death as well, maiden, metallica, priest, ozzy, pantera, all the big hair bands, you name it, to cannibal, 6 feet, behemoth, morbid, but i happen to like a few classic and prog bands like (Original)ASIA, Journey and RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I also have an Asia set list from their recent reunion tour if anybody cares. Did I forget to mention I'm an opera singer!?! |

Always good to diversify! My tastes are very similar. I'll listen to Napalm Death one moment, then put in an old Rush CD.
Opera? That takes a ton of talent. I totally respect that! Get them old set lists up here! Someone could be looking for them! |

WHAT?
That's one of my favorite Journey songs. And Jeff Scott Soto rules. |

JSS is the new official singer for Journey. Steve Augeri is out. And Edge Of The Blade was excellent live.

Yeah, I saw that announced a few weeks ago... I'm really excited... I think the band's last couple albums (Arrival, Generations) were actually really good... and I can't wait to hear JSS singing for them.
