Pretty good band. I think The Divine Wings Of Tragedy is their best album.

Something Wicked and something from SX are probably the frontrunners. I never go to the punk section of the store so I may be able to pick up some of Nick's recommendations used.

By the way...my shitty pay tonight renders this thread useless. Hopefully some good shit is used and already in the store.

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
Act III
Time Does Not Heal or Darkness Descends
Bonded by Blood
Agent Orange
De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Dunno about NIN

First two albums are rather bad. Damnation Game is a bit better, because Russell Allen came into the band, but avoid both.

The Divine Wings of Tragedy rules. It was my first SX album, and it was very good. The title track is ownage, and Candlelight Fantasia is their best ballad.

Twilight in Olympus is much more straightforward than Divine Wings, due to a drummer change. It's still good, but look elsewhere for now.

V is their compulsory concept album dealing with mythology and stuff. I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics, but this is their most varied and progressive album. A lot of layering, and a 'soft' production gives the album a more regal air.

The Odyssey is my personal favourite. Much harder hitting than V, and together with Divine Wings contains some of SX's best songs, such as the title track, The Turning, Incantations of the Apprentice ad infinitum.

So in order, get:

The Odyssey
The Divine Wings of Tragedy
V
Twilight in Olympus

If you can find it cheap, get it.

There's some notable filler (Consequences just sucks, and Reaping Stone is really bad), but there's the WICKED trilogy, and Disciples of the Lie, My Own Saviour, and a powerful instrumental called 1776.

But Matt Barlow sounds like he's gonna cry on a few of the songs.
