Overkill has never compromised their thrash to sell more records. Besides they were technically "headlining" the second stage. Some fairly "big" acts have headlined second stage at OzzFest, including Rob Zombie, BLS, and Ozzy himself.

I'm not going to insult Overkill in that respect. Their actual music is what kept me from enjoying them, which is strange considering the fact that I really like Horrorscope.

Yeah, but there's a lot more people at Ozzfest compared to Gigantour. The second stage Ozzfest has a totally different vibe... it's like having the lawn in front of the stage, and I think that's a big reason why bands such as Rob Zombie (who was originally offered a slot on the headlining stage) chose to play it. But then again, Rob Zombie's solo act has been around about half as long as Overkill.

I guess they didn't compromise. That was my first "Overkill experience." I generally regard bands that roll with the whole fuck you/we don't care what you think type of vibe as still hating their parents... even in their 40's.

The thing about Da Kill's first 4 albums, is that there are some truly, honest-to-god, no bullshit great fucking songs on there (Wrecking Crew & Drunken Wisdom come to mind), but there is also a decent share of filler. It's filler in the sense that you can definitely sit through it and listen to it in anticipation of the next song, but it isn't always something you would put on your iPod playlist.

Nonetheless, they better be selling copies of Horrorscope at Gigantour. Overkill albums are practically impossible to find.

You know, not everybody got along with their mommies and daddies when they were young.

If you don't like Overkill you're not a metal head in my book.
