Basement -- Pomona, CA -- August 12th, 2014
Got there after two openers played, Fell to Low and Creative Adult. Checked em out prior didnt really like any of em besides Cloakroom.
Cloakroom came out and played for about 40 mins of post-rock,emo, shoegaze whatever you want to call it. It sounded chill as hell and while I dug it not sure why this band was direct support to a melodic hardcore band.
Then came time for the UK greats Basement! They came out and just dove straight into the music and Pomona Glasshouse came alive. Every single person sang from the moment opener Whole was played. Peeps were bouncing, crowdsurfing, and moshing til the end of their set. Since there was a barrier no stagediving BUT some of Basements crew stage dove throughout the show! I didnt crowdsurf just stuck to moshing for the breakdowns and Wish I Could Stay Here material Luckily they only played one song off their new ep. Band kept talking to a min pretty much just said "Thank You!" throughout. While I dug the set I wish it is was longer seriously only 13 songs and about 40 mins for a headliner is weaaak. Other than that it was a fun show.
-Jeremy Bolm was walking around The Glasshouse!
-Checked out merch didn't dig anything which sucks cuz I was looking forward to scoring a sick Basement shirt.
-Caught a pick!
