I love The Dark Knight trilogy equally, despite the flaws.

When it comes to superheromovies, I'm patiently awaiting X Men: Apocalypse, The Wolverine 2 and Iron Man 4, aside from Guardians, which comes out next week here.

For some reason, I don't have much confidence in Batman VS Superman...

I thought this too, but after seeing Man of Steel and Watchmen (neither of which I cared for), i'm starting to think that it really only works for Batman since he's a dark and brooding character with no actual superpowers. Watchmen's source material is also darker and more gritty, so I guess that's just a case of me not liking the story or Zack Snyder's snoozefest of an adaptation. Having those stories grounded in reality is easier since there's nothing inherently unrealistic about their stories. It doesn't really work all the time with certain characters as we saw with Superman. Whether that's due to the nature of Superman himself or because the execution of the movie was just not good, I don't know. Probably a mix of both. For a movie like Thor, which you hated, it's hard to ground that in reality unless you believe in Norse gods.

I think the Marvel studios films as well as the non-Rattner Xmen Films and other movies do a good job of balancing the tone so that they aren't too goofy and fantastical like Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Really it's a case by case scenario. There's nothing inherently different tone wise between the first 2 Spiderman films (which are good) and the two Fantastic Four films (which are awful).

If you want all your superhero films to be grounded completely in reality, you're pretty much going to have to stick with the Dark Knight films, but I'm sure that's not necessarily the case since you've liked some of the "less realistic" comic book films.

I'm not sure how I feel about Batman V Superman, it'll be cool if it leads into a Justice League movie (which I guess they're planning), but I am just not a fan of Superman. Have never seen a singel Superman movie, ever, not even the "classics". Batman, however, I absolutely love, even the "crappy" movies, that were Forever and & Robin.

I think when it comes to superhero movies, I am most excited for the new X-Men. I have always loved the series, especially when Apocalypse appears (I remember marking out so hard when he appeared in Xmen Evolution)! I was never too huge on Spidermans films. 1 was good, 2 (although considered one of the best super hero movies ever) was just ok, and 3 just had a clusterfuck of too many enemies. If you're going to have Venom, he NEEDS his OWN movie.

Blah blah blah, there ya go, my 2 cents. Stoked to see what actually happens in the Marvel Universe, and after hearing about the Doctor Strange movie, I got STOKED

He might not be counting Age Of Ultron, since the filming for that is over.

I refuse to see the new Spiderman trilogy. Raimi's 2 is still one of the best superheromovies ever made imho. 3 was a horrible crying kiddiefest.

I didn't dislike Man Of Steel, Crowe kicked ass, but it just lacked something... Didn't like Shannon as Zod.
From what I see, BVS with Snyder directing and that many characters, might be big a mess.

My ultimate dream is a fourth Batman movie by Nolan. But that's just me.

Cap 2 is basically Avengers 1.5, so yeah, it's pretty awesome. Not only is the plot of Cap 2 clearly a bridge to Avengers 2, but there are a bunch of Avengers characters in it, so the action sequences are huge like they were in the first Avengers movie.

So to Manks, and in support of Andy's comment, you should watch Cap 2 because it rules, and you should watch Cap 1 first because (1) it doesn't entirely suck and (2) so that the plot for Cap 2 makes more sense.

Didn't like it very much. The Hulk wilding out on fools was easily the best part of the movie. It's a movie made for fans of the other Marvel movies, not for newcomers to everything.

I was actually referring to the Coast to Coast show entirely. That show was genius in my mind.
