31 Days of Horror, October 2014

A couple of days late but it's not too late to catch up.

31 Day Horror Movie challenge. Watch one horror movie every day. The twist is that you can't watch anything that you've already seen. No going to the old "go tos" in your collection. Hit the theaters, browse the Netflix archive, check out your TV listings, old or new as long as you've never watched the movie.

So far the movies I chose for days 1 and 2 SUCKED but I endured. They were:

Day 1: Doomsday Book
Day 2: Dead Before Dawn

I'll update my list as the month passes. Hope to see some horror fanatics join in!

My horror collection has so many unseen films that I would need years to watch them all.

My Mom got me one of those 50 movie box sets that has terrible B movies quite a few Christmas' ago. The one she got me mainly consisted of Alien horror movies, so I may have to FINALLY break into that. I've only watched a few, and been meaning to break back into this set

I'm joining the party.

Oct. 1 - World War Z (2013) - Some cheesy parts, but better than I thought it would be.
Oct. 2 - VHS (2012) - Mediocre horror anthology based around some kids finding a house filled with VHS tapes. If you donít like the Blair Witch style shaky camera, avoid this one.
Oct. 3 - Shrooms (2009) - Predictable slasher flick about some American college students camping in Ireland.
Oct. 4 - Almost Human (2013) - Itís not a deep story, but itís a well done and entertaining indie sci-fi slasher movie that does a lot of things better than most Hollywood horror.
Oct. 5 - The Dunwich Horror (1975) - HP Lovecraft story about a man trying to resurrect an ancient god via the seduction and ritual sacrifice of a college girl.
Oct. 6 - Killer Mountain (2011) - A Syfy channel creature movie, if that gives you a sense of the quality.

I tried 30 mins of VHS. And after 30 mins I thought why am I bothering w/ this? I read VHS2 was better. Is that accurate?

I've not seen VHS2, but the first one definitely didn't leave me wanting more.
