I actually never have. I didn't start paying attention to music till I hit 6th grade with Metallica and got into all the bands I still enjoy now. I'll be 26 in August and I still enjoy Metallica and all the bands that followed.

I admit I am a strange case, but unless something drastic happens, I stick to my guns on almost anything.

And for me it wasn't a flip of a switch. I slowly phased out certain bands in favor of better things, but I still regularly listen to Tool, Deftones, System of a Down, Fear Factory and other nu-metal-ish bands that I enjoyed from back then that I feel stands the test of time.
That's a fair point, Especially the second paragraph. I guess I was being way too presumptious there.

A lot of the bands I was into as a teen only put out one, maybe two, good records. Does that mean I "grew out of them" or that they turned to shit after a strong start and I moved on looking for better things?

I'd say the latter.

Not me. The first tape I ever got was by Leviathan. I purposely fastforwarded and rewound it seven hundred and fifty two times and then put it in a toaster oven for ten minutes (on low, of course) so it sounded even more kvlt. I was in the second grade.

My first club show ever was Mushroomhead in 2002, I was 15 years old. Despite not listening to them regularly, I still buy their albums when they come out and enjoy them. Would go see this tour if it happens!

That's a case-by-case scenario for me. I got into Korn and Limp Bizkit at the same time, and with Limp Bizkit it was the former, whereas with Korn I can still listen to their first 4 or 5 albums but just don't really like anything recent they've done.

Truthfully I'm excited to see Mushroomhead at Mayhem, they still put on a good show. I'd go to this but considering the members of Mudvayne don't seem to be speaking to each other I just get irritated seeing people claim they're gonna tour.
