Corey Taylor working on Slipknot/Mushroomhead tour. He also wants Gwar and Mudvayne.

From: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/cor...-mushroomhead/
Quote:
While being interviewed by Live Metal on the red carpet of the May 15 "Monster Energy Roast On The Range With Corey Taylor" event in Columbus, Ohio, the SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman dropped some exciting news regarding SLIPKNOT's upcoming touring activities. When MUSHROOMHEAD was brought up during the chat, Taylor said he was working on a tour that would unite the two mask-donning bands. But that's not all. He added that he wanted GWAR and MUDVAYNE to be part of the bill, as well, potentially making this one of the biggest metal tours to happen in some time.

Said Taylor: "I'm working on that [a tour featuring SLIPKNOT and MUSHROOMHEAD], honestly. It probably won't happen right away, just because [SLIPKNOT's] been gone for awhile and we have all these changes, and we've got a new album coming out. So we want to kinda take the first six or seven months and just kind of re-establish ourselves. But I can say it's on my radar and it's one of the things I want to do, like for real. Honestly now, especially now since [GWAR vocalist Dave] Brockie's dead — that was one of the guys that I really wanted to tour with. It was GWAR, [SLIPKNOT], MUSHROOMHEAD and MUDVAYNE. I really wanted to put that together. So trust me. Hopefully sooner than later we will see what happens."

This isn't the first time that the possibility of SLIPKNOT and MUSHROOMHEAD sharing the stage has been discussed. Taylor revealed those same plans at the end of 2011 while taking questions from the audience during his solo tour. Corey said, "My problem has never been with that band, my problem was with their fans at the time. I would welcome it. I'd love to do something like that, you know. Especially now. I think it'd beautiful to put something like that together and just see what fucking happens — SLIPKNOT, MUSHROOMHEAD, GWAR and fucking MUDVAYNE. Because if it's one thing I've learned, you don't hold on to stupid shit, you let it go."
That would be so sweet if it really does happen! I have everything crossed that it will become a reality!

I knew it would be Travis before I even looked.

This idea has been talked about since before Knotfest, so this really isn't news. Hell when people found out about Knotfest they thought it would be this.

the twist would be that all the bands come out and perform without their masks/make-up

The new Mushroomhead blows, and Mudvayne haven't been good since... were they ever good?

Yeah, this'll suck. Fortunately, it's got "USA only" written all over it, so I don't have to care

I really wouldn't hold out on Mudvayne at this point. I don't think the members exactly want to do it anytime soon.

What's with these "fantasy team"/all-star type tours happening or being talked about 10-12 years too late? Kind of like those tours Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, and Rob Zombie all did with each other happened when no one gave a fuck about them anymore. I mean:

Slipknot: 1 integral member dead, 1 integral member left
GWAR: Only integral non-interchangeable member dead
Mudvayne: HellYeah/not interested
Mushroomhead: Terrible

So, yes, clearly now is the best time to do a tour like this.

Haha. Mudvayne. I had a Mudvayne shirt in high school in 2001. Holy shit, what was I thinking?? (I was also a fat, angsty teenage douche at the time)

So I guess there is hope for the kids listening to shitty deathcore now. I just needed someone to give me a 'metal intervention' in college to point me in the right direction.
