Admittedly, Ohio has also shat out such filth as Black Veil Brides (Cincy), Miss May I & The Devil Wears Prada (Dayton), and Attack Attack! (Columbus).

Finally - Trent Reznor, Maynard James Keenan, Marilyn Manson and Ripper Owens are all from Ohio.

(Also, Jim from Nunslaughter is originally from Pittsburgh but currently lives in the city where I grew up as a kid. )

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Of all of these, the only one that deserves to be in any hall of fame type situation for sure is Trent Reznor, whom I met once at a party before he got really famous (it was around 1988, just a year or so before Pretty Hate Machine came out). Maynard and Ripper alone wouldn't merit induction (although their bands surely would), and I dunno about freakboy Manson. I suppose maybe, based on album sales.

I could see MotA and Trees making it after a few more albums if they keep on their current paths.
When I think of Ohio, the first band that comes to mind is Necrophagia.

I don't have a snappy comeback for that. You win. I guess we'll have to make due with the rest of the names on my list.

Anthrax are the obvious choice for New York, state and city. ...No one else really comes as close to deserving being in a theoretical metal hall of fame.

Wow great question; I never really thought Colorado as a big metal/hard rock state as we are a big mix of musical genres. If someone with more brains can suggest a band, let me know....but our biggest band that could be hall of fame material is Havok

I loved Colorado/Denver when I was there last fall. Great city (at least the part I saw), friendly crowd, good times all around. I could easily envision myself living there.

The only metal band that I know offhand is from Colorado is Allegaeon... which is a fantastic band, but I don't think they're known/popular enough to contend with Havok.

Question 2: What's your favorite metal album to come out your month/year of birth?

Partly inspired by Morbid Angel's "Altars Of Madness" which came out today in 1989. 19 days after, I was born!
