Iced Earth -- West Springfield, VA -- April 21st, 2014

FULL REVIEW AWOOOooo

Went to see a highly anticipated show w/ ICED EARTH, the SABATONS, ReVamp and local favourites A Sound of Thunder

ASOT was good- but I thought their set could have used some work- the crowd seemed appreciative!

ReVAmp- IMO was disappointing. Their songs fell flat, a bit wishy washy. A crime based on how good Floor Jansen sounded and can sing. The crowd seemed to like them tho

SABATON- SO MUCH ENERGY. they got a long set and played a bunch of standards and some new stuff. Almost surpassed Iced Earth, but were beat out. They were great. they got the whole floor jumping

ICED EARTH- sounded GREAT, amazing crowd response, pulled out a lot of Dark Saga stuff (similar set from the rest of the tour.... my neck still hurts. BUT they really should not have cut "Blessed.." from their set...

I feel like the set time for IE is kind of short. I thought they would at least play another 20 minutes.

They had 10:20-12 allotted, so I was hoping for that to be chock full of Icing Urf. However they didn't/... I don't know why not- show ppl you mean business Jon!

The equivalent set for Dystopia would have been pretty good. But that many Plagues of Babylon songs in it makes it shit.

What, four? They're touring in support of the album. Could've been seven, like the Glorious Burden tour.

That album doesn't have two good songs on it.

One is bad enough. Though I must say hearing amazing songs such as Greenface, When the Eagle Cries and Hollow Man would be just terrific. Those are, like, the best IE songs ever.
