All That Remains -- Washington, DC -- April 9th, 2014

Full Review

I saw one of my few favourite Metalcore bands- All That Remains again.

Wilson- stoner/metalcore mix. I thought they were energetic but not distinctive. Also wtf is up with that name

Darkest Hour- way better guitars, but vocals and songs didn't grab me.

All That Remains- if you have seen them before, they are kind of the same show, no surprise. Fun time, tho the setlist didn't flow as well as last time. short headline set (almost an hour :/)

Setlists:
Wilson () (to be updated)
  • I Can Beat Your Dad
  • Susan Jane
  • Snake Eyes

Darkest Hour (8:30- 9:05)
  • Savor the Kill
  • A Paradox With Flies
  • The Rapture In Exile (new)
  • Love as a Weapon
  • ?Misery
  • Violent By Nature
  • Convalescence
  • With a Thousand Words to Say But One

(Demon(s) was before 1000 on the setlist, but crossed out)

All That Remains (9:43-10:41)
  • The Air That I Breathe
  • Stand Up
  • Now Let Them Tremble
  • For We Are Many
  • Forever in your Hands
  • Some of the People, All of the Time
  • What If I Was Nothing?
  • Asking Too Much
  • Six
  • Down Through the Ages
  • This Darkened Heart

Darkest Hour not playing The Sadist Nation is heresy.

58 minutes for a headlining set? What a joke.

Despite the new songs, this is a shockingly decent set

That ATR set is pretty terrible but i'm glad to see a song off This Darkened Heart. And the few songs they chose to play off of Fall of Ideals aren't too shabby.

I'm so glad they are opening with something that's not Stand Up.

tell me about the new Darkest Hour song.

Wish this band would headline some NYC area shows.

I thought this show was pretty weak.

The bands were good, for the most part. But the atmosphere and the crowd were weak.

Darkest Hour had better crowds at their 2 Pig Destroyer shows as well as opening for Killswitch last year. And there's no excuse for a headliner to play less than an hour. I left the show feeling a little disappointed, especially after experiencing the amazing Carcass show a few days later.

This Darkened Heart notwithstanding, my heart breaks for what ATR sets have become.

unless I'm mistaken, that's two new songs (Misery being the other), and there already are videos of Rapture and another one called Infinite Eyes that they played back in december.

not only that, but Doomsayer's missing as well, all while Violent by Nature is still in there. it just boggles my mind.
