Not bad, but not the direction I was hoping for, sounds too much like something off of The Hunter.

How does anybody think this is better than most of the material on The Hunter?

Because it is? Not their best, but upon first listen, this is an improvement over The Hunter.

I'm not too sure about that. Songs like Spectrelight and All The Heavy Lifting are way better than this

Yeah as a "lead single" it's a lot better than Curl of the Burl but about half of The Hunter is better than this song.

Hopefully with a new record they'll at least stop ending their set with Creature Lives.

A proper Mastodon set should either end with Blood and Thunder or Hearts Alive.
