La Dispute -- Pomona, CA -- March 26th, 2014
Mansions were the first band up and they were cool chill sounding rock to me. Kinda seemed out of place at this show but gonna look into their music anyways.
Pianos Become the Teeth then hit the stage and sounded aight. I like this band on cd but live they donít impress much. Gave a nice performance though cuz the crowd ate it up. Played a new song that sounded okay. Anyways during the last song the singer stage dove and all the Pianos fans dogpiled him cuz ya know hardcore bro!
La Dispute then hit the stage. Hot damn they played a long set, which is cool buuut their new stuff was just plain boring live. Just sounded so tame compared to their old stuff, especially in a live setting. That being said the band was way into it and gave a great performance. Luckily the band finished the set with more of their previous material so the show ended on a good note. Typical stuff crowdsurfing, peeps singing their hearts out, luckily no hardcore dancers lol It was a sold out show and it felt like one, La Dispute fans live by this band. Lastly, PBTT and La Dispute gave out nice shout outs to Touche Amore for doing what they have done with this music scene.
Overall a cool show, glad I finally saw La Dispute.
