I have a lot of thoughts on it, but truthfully it's just a demo and I treat it as semi-screwing around. So I'll leave it as that and wait for the finished product to completely rip it apart.

Holy shit Hetfield's vocals are borderline cringeworthy.

One word.

Demo. This won't even be on the album.

Bored me.

I liked most of Death Magnetic, but this was ... boring, and dragged on for too long.

If the completed version is fixed up in other ways besides sound quality, it could be alright, though.

The fact that it's a demo doesn't change how his voice sounds. It sounds like a continued regression from Death Magnetic.

I thought Hetfield's voice was one of the stronger points of the song. He sounds much better than he usually sounds live these days (which admittedly isn't saying much).

He sounded great the last couple of times I saw them. I don't know why he gets so much shit for his vocals. I think most of the people who say that haven't even seen them.
And that's not directed towards you, I just wonder if we're talking about the same band sometimes.

Demo or not, it's not that good of a song. It just sounds like something they threw together at the last minute so they would have a "new" song to play on the current tour. This song isn't even up to the standard of the worst song on Death Magnetic. Maybe the main riff sticks around but the song won't make the new album the way it is now.

Agreed. Sure, it's not like it was in the eighties, but then again, he's no Ronnie. Nobody is.
