Queens Of The Stone Age -- Sydney, Australia -- March 6th, 2014

First night of the QOTSA / NIN double headliner tour w/ Brody Dalle as direct support.

I caught Brody Dalle's 30 minute set, she had a great sound but I didn't find it that memorable - most probably because I hadn't heard much of her stuff before. Still worth a watch.

NIN were the first band on tonight (I believe it will alternate over the tour), and played a touch over an hour twenty. Down to a four piece, NIN still brought the goods! I thought the setlist could have been a bit better paced, but I was still happy that it wasn't so Hesitation Marks heavy.

A Warm Place
Somewhat Damaged
1,000,000
Letting You
Terrible Lie
March of the Pigs
Piggy
Sanctified
Me, I'm Not
Only
Came Back Haunted
Survivalism
Wish
Copy of A
Gave Up
Burn
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like a Hole

Hurt

Queens headlined, and played for an hour and a half - absolutely killed it.

I hadn't seen them on this tour yet, the last time I caught them was when they were playing their S/T album in full and they weren't the best back then.
The new songs went down well, but the old songs had a much better stage production (lights & cinematics) and crowd response.

Awesome set, a bit predictable but definitely a crowd pleaser. Better Living Through Chemistry was a treat.

You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, but I Feel Like a Millionaire
No One Knows
My God Is the Sun
Burn the Witch
Smooth Sailing
…Like Clockwork
If I Had a Tail
Little Sister
Fairweather Friends
I Sat by the Ocean
Make It Wit Chu
Sick, Sick, Sick
3's & 7's
Better Living Through Chemistry
Go With the Flow

The Vampyre of Time and Memory
Feel Good Hit of the Summer
A Song for the Dead

Interesting. When I saw NIN for "With Teeth", they had QOTSA as their opener, so it was the other way round that time.

I thought NIN destroyed QOTSA, but then I'm much more of a NIN fan to begin with.

Same here and I completely agree.

Are they really "playing" it live at the shows? I saw two shows that had it and it did sound a little different than the studio version but the stage but so foggy that I couldn't see anyone on stage so I'm not sure if it's just like a brief intermission.
