What DS would YOU buy?

I'm currently considering buying another DS (touring/playing far can be brutal, especially when you run out of music...), but I am not sure which model to go with...

Original
DSi
3DS
2DS

I don't care much for the 3D, but I really love the games they put out on it. I also worry about backwards compatibility. I swear I read something in the past that the 3DS/2DS isn't compatable with some of the original DS games.

Anyway.... thoughts?

I have the original DS and you can get a lot of the Final Fantasy remakes, which would be great when you're on the road. It also has Dragon Quest IV.

EDIT: and since its the oldest it's probably the most affordable.

DS lite was the only one I had and I loved it, so I would go with that one.

What makes it harder is that the 3DS XL bundle comes with Mario & Luigi Dream team (which those of you who saw my top 30 games list know I love my Mario RPGs ), but the basic 3DS comes with Mario 3D World, and $50 cheaper

I guess in the long run the XL would be better, and cause less eye strain with the bigger screen (my eyes aren't the best)

MAYBE I'LL JUST SAY F IT AND NOT GET ANYTHING AND SAVE MY MONEY FOR BETTER SHIT!

I always thought the XL was a dumb idea because the regular (3)DS is already one of the most ergonomically terrible handhelds ever, so I can only imagine what a bigger one is like.

I kinda thought the same thing about the 3DS XL but after getting a 3DS, I do kinda wish it was a bit bigger.

That said, the 3DS is my favorite handheld I've ever owned.
