Hip-hop is pretty much the only stuff I listen to that that doesn't fall under the rock/metal/punk/alternative umbrella though I like some electronic music and new-wave R&B like Frank Ocean and The Weeknd.

Hip-hop: Kanye, Wu-Tang (and various members of Wu-Tang), Talib Kweli, Beastie Boys, MIA, Frank Ocean, Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, Nas, Busta Rhymes

Pop: Tegan and Sara, Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Lorde, Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Haim, Le Tigre, Nicki Minaj, Ellie Goulding

I also like bluegrass and old-school country, folk and Americana. I've been meaning to try digging into soul and Motown stuff too.

haha for sure. His last album was my number one album for last year. I'm going to go catch him and James Hunnicutt tonight. They're such amazing people. If you haven't heard James, give him a listen to.

So clearly you guys didn't understand the part that said "That isn't rock or metal" when you're listing punk, alternative, hardcore, and grindcore.
