^ I hate to nitpick Fonz, but please don't compare them to Scorpions, I think that's the 2nd time you did that. It's really disrespectful to Scorpions to think they're anything close to QR.
Also, you say that they would draw even less with tatertot still in the band? I don't see how that could be.

The last time Scorpions played here they played a huge outdoor amphitheater.

I think the last time QR played here they played a sports bar.

Let's not forget, when they first recruited La Torre, they DID change their name, then went back to using Queensryche when they realised starting again from scratch would be hard work.

Yeah, Scorpions don't have the following they used to, but they can still probably draw a few thousand people to each show they play. They have enough big hits that they can still pull in a decent crowd.

The new version of the band is just as much part of the problem as Tate's is. First of all, they walk out on Tate and want to take the band name with them. Then instead of starting over with LaTorre and renaming the band something else, they decided to keep the name Queensryche which is causing all sorts of confusion. You can't have two different versions of the same band. The new Ryche is screwing themselves over in a lot of ways because they didn't change their name. True, they may have to start over at the bottom by creating a new band but would it really be that much worse then where they are now? The whole name controversy has turned the band into a bigger joke than anything Tate did to damage them over the last decade.
They didn't walk out on tatertot. They fired him and for very good reasons. They tried renaming the band Rising West, but figured it was best to keep the QR name since that would make starting over a bit easier. It's not causing too much confusion since QR's new album sold 13,500 copies in the first week and tatertots only sold 5,500. That means that most people know whose version is which. QR is doing much better in ticket sales in the venues they are playing as compared to tatertot as well. So, I don't think they screwed themselves over by that much. They're also betting on that they'll get to keep the name to themselves after the trial. The only joke I see is tatertot and his comedy act very badly attempting to do Mindcrime as a cash grab.

Scorpions did an ampitheater in Philly that gets plenty of big names, same with the NJ area. The non Tate QR does Pikes Peaked wherever the fuck that is. Tate did Philly with his version earlier this year and did the same venue QR played since the mid 2000's. Keeping in mind he did a solo show at a smaller venue months earlier(which the promotors fucked up royally, the band took a pay cut so it wouldn't get cancelled). So that clears that.

Also the Tate version seems to be getting bigger names supporting their version. Alice Cooper, Sevendust, Disturbed, etc.

You're all missing the biggest punchline of all: the fact that people think Queensryche has ever been good.

I don't think you quite understand how jokes work.
