This was a headlining club show right after the tour with Korn wrapped up. This is a fairly small venue so there weren't any props besides a few backdrops of classic monster images. I was right on the rail in front of Rob and even got to hold him up on the rail as he walked across it during the show. The band was really tight and put on a great show. Rob mentioned that he didn't really know how to put on a club show anymore and he also mentioned that it would be the last date in the U.S. for a "long time". His wife was there which was interesting. John 5 is a really great player, his solo was awesome and his playing of the Star Spangled Banner with his mouth was really cool. I really enjoyed Meet The Creeper, We're An American Band, and Lords of Salem. It was nice to hear House of 1000 Corpses too as I hadn't hear it live before. Dead City Radio is really not a great opener but oh well. Although I love the video screens and monsters and effects, it was cool to see a small, stripped down show. Zombie and band always deliver.

Best of all I took extremely obscure roads and drove to DC the day before Thanksgiving and didn't get stuck in traffic.

They also had event shirts just for this show which was pretty cool.

I had a similar thought, but was a bit irked by the short (and similar to Mayhem) set. Still, even with a stripped down set, Rob was killin it (despite the slowing down of "Scum.."

I thought Scar the Martyr was a little disappointing...

Scar the Martyr (8:08- 8:51)
  • Star Wars Fanfare
  • Intro
  • Dark Ages
  • My Retribution
  • Never Forgive, Never Forget
  • Prayer for Prey
  • Soul Disintegration
  • Blood Host
  • Last Night on Earth?

Thoughts including Scar the Martyr
