Would You Be Interested in Seeing Megadeth Perform All of Youthanasia?

Quote:
Examiner: Youthanasia was my very first Megadeth record ever, so I’ll always have a soft spot for it. Any chance you’ll go out and tour the whole album like you did with Countdown and Rust In Peace?

Dave: Very big chance. In fact funny that you mention that, we were just talking about the part where David Ellefson used to play the extra floor tom during “Reckoning Day,” because the video we did for that song was filmed in Finland and Finland is right next to Russia, so the taxi cab I was in was an old cab from the Russian days back during the cold war. And a lot of the footage from that video, it’s a really, really old video, was from all those concerts back in the day when metal was just huge and before the whole alternative new metal things confused things and fucked up our business.
So knowing Dave this will happen next year, and I for one may be very interested if it does happen; Youthanasia is a great album and very underrated with some great songs; the only good thing they have done in the past 3 years is playing RIP and CTE in full. Fingers crossed maybe in 2016 Dave will change his mind and whip out PSBWB for its 30th birthday

or not

I've seen some things, man. And some stuff. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd go as long as they don't play the Palladium again, like they did with CTE.

I'd be ok with never seeing Megadeth again, actually.

There are certain songs I would like to see performed off the album. Reckoning Day has been absent from the set for too long and would be great to see it make a return. Addicted To Chaos, The Killing Road and Black Curtains would be cool to see live to but overall I don't think the album is good enough or significant enough to celebrate it's 20th anniversary. I think it's a good album, if they want to add a few different tunes from it next year as a nod to it's anniversary that's fine. Playing it in full is not necessary.

The RIP anniversary tour was great and the one for CTE was a good idea to but one for Youthanasia is just a bit much. Maybe Dave should concentrate on writing a quality album again instead of focusing on anniversary tours. They are quickly becoming nothing more than a nostalgia act with these kind of tours.

Probably my third favorite Megadeth album after CtE and RiP so I'd love to see this tour happen.

See I don't see Dave being able to make a quality record unless he takes 1-2 years off and based on his track record he won't do that

I agree Youthanasia from a popularity stand point doesn't match RIP and CTE and if I could pick songs from it to include in a regular show it would be

-Reckoning Day
-Train of Consequences
-A Tout Le Monde
-The Killing Road
-Family Tree
-Youthanasia
-Victory

After Peace Sells and Rust in Peace, it's Megadeth's best album, so in theory, yes I'd be interested.

If memory serves, he made a similar "sort-of" comment about doing all of Peace Sells, so we'll see.
