Your First Concert

I searched and searched and could not find any topic about this... so I figured, we have a "Today in your cocnert history" "upcoming shows" "favorite shows" etc etc, why not a "First Concert" thread!?

I had gone to quite a bit of local shows, but my first "Big Named Band" concert was...

May 22, 2004
Studio Seven (Seattle, WA)
Death Angel
Metal Church
The Braindead
Agony of Deceit
Drown Mary

Great show! I was right up front for Metal Church, their singer put the microphone down to me during "Ton of Bricks".... and I had no idea of any of thel lyrics (mind you, I was only 15 and mainly went because I only knew the local bands )

Judas Priest on the Painkiller tour in 1990. Megadeth and Testament opened for them. I met Dave Mustaine and Chuck Billy that night and scored their autographs. That was a killer night. I can still remember it like it was yesterday!

The Smashing Pumpkins w/Fountains of Wayne - 1/24/1997 @ Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY

My sister wanted to go and I didn't give a damn at all, so our parents dropped us off and we sat in the upper bowl. I could have cared less then about Smashing Pumpkins and I still could care less, but if I was to see one tour from them in my life this would be the tour...the end of the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness tour. Fountains of Wayne was pre-Stacy's Mom but I don't remember anything they played.

My first concert was supposed to be Iron Maiden at the Academy in NYC in 1995, but my parents didn't let me go...I still have a deep anger to them about that.

Anyway, I saw Metallica the next month in 1997 at the same venue, and then it was off to the races...I've been to 411 shows now, crazy.

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band at The Palace of Auburn Hills, MI. Circa 1996 - it was his tour for the It's a Mystery Album. I was 13. Everything was so larger-than-life, with the rush that went over the whole crowd when Seger came out and went into Roll Me Away.

May 3, 5, or 7, 1996

EDIT: Could be March 10, 12, or 14th as well.

Apparently he really liked that venue.

My first concert was seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers w/ The Mars Volta @ Oracle Arena 8/24/06. I was 11 and went with my friend and my dad. Before were just making small talk with two adults in front of us. One asked what our favorite RHCP songs were and I said "The Power Of Equality", and they were surprised it wasn't just one of the hits, but a deep cut. I remember not liking TMW because they were just loud for an hour. RHCP were awesome.
