After some trolling in Slayer-threads, here's the next underrated album...

AC/DC - For Those About To Rock - We Salute You

It still amazes me that it was not Back In Black, but this one that got to number 1 in the USA, despite the latter being one of the best selling records (and one of my favorites) ever...

Anyway, the casual AC/DC-fan will only know the title track, but why not listen to Let's Get It Up or Inject The Venom? More commercial than BIB, but oh so catchy. Sadly, the album has been overlooked by the band ever since the FOTATR-tour ended, and even during that tour, maximum 2-3 songs from it were played...

Favorite track: For Those...

Round 2:

Queen - The Game (1980)

The 8th studio album. Yes, we all know Crazy Little Thing Called Love & Another One Bites The Dust, that famous club hit with the cool bass part.

But why don't you have a listen to their best ballads, Save Me & Play The Game? or Dragon Attack, Queen in it's purest hardrock form?

The Game is also the end of an era, in the sense that the following tour would be their last with only the four members. Go watch Queen Rocks Montreal to see what that meant.

Favorite track: Dragon Attack

Huge Queen fan here, and that is a great record! Dragon Attack is unstoppable altogether. No band will ever quite be what Queen were, if you ask me.

I was quite backwards, I first heard Dragon Attack as a bonus track on the latest Testament w/o hearing the original. I still haven't taken the time yet but I think this will be my encouragement to finally do it!!!

Shows only how influential this unique band was.

Check out their hardrock/metal/progrock stuff, if you already haven't! Song titles? just ask...

... coz we need a little... controversy

Metallica - Load (1996)

Yes, the album that betrayed methul and turned this band into a Limp Bizkit clone.

I must say that S&M was the first Metallica album that I heard, so I was automatically "won" for their nineties stuff.
Gone are the speed of Dyers Eve & Hetfield's long capital punishment stories. Instead we get an album full of personal stuff with some cool riffs, like 2x4, with it's magnificent Sabbath feel.

And I agree with Kirk, Hero Of The Day is one of his best solos. But as favorite track I choose

The House That Jack Built.

Load is about half good, possibly great material. Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, 2x4, Ain't My Bitch, Thorn Within are all a part of the good to great half. The rest of the album ranges from OK to sonic AIDS.

I've probably said it before; but Load suffered from just being too damn long. Too many songs that would've worked as three or four minute songs stretched to six or seven minutes. I remember Lars bragging in interviews for this album that they fit as much music on a compact disc as you could possibly put on a CD.

And I also feel they could've cut half the songs on this and half the songs on ReLoad and made one solid album.

It was the album that made me like Metallica. After hearing it I had a new appreciation for their earlier material. And I still love the song Hero of the Day and the video.
