Whitesnake -- San Francisco, CA -- August 9th, 2013

Got to the Warfield as Red Line Chemistry(opener) was playing. i only knew that song "Dumb Luck" which they didnt play, so fuck them haha.

Whitesnake came on around 9:30, Played till about 10:50.

Coverdale sounded pretty damn great, was hitting all the screams, blowing the crowd away...for about..80% of the set. which is more then i expected. the songs are tuned down a bit, the band is def louder then his vocals (also expected), but despite the haters..he fucking rocked

There were a lot of long drum and guitar solos and when he introduced the band it must of taken 5 good minutes. but being that he is at the tail end of his career after 35 killer years of Whitesnake we can all understand, his voice needs extra rest throughout the night if he wants to keep doing this a few more years.

Overall, I Had a Kickass Time!!!

Setlist:

1. Give Me All Your Love
2. Ready An Willing
3. Love Aint No Stranger
4. Is This Love
5. Gambler
6. Love Will Set You Free
-- Doug Aldrich/Reb Beach solo ~15min
7. Steal Your Heart Away(Ft. Coverdale's Son which was really cool)
-- Tommy Aldrich Drum Solo ~5min
8. Forevermore
9. Slide It In/Slow N Easy (about 2 min of each song)
-- Coverdale's Voice Goes
10. Bad Boys
11. Here I Go Again
12. Still Of The Night

Ouch!

I don't mind Coverdale, the album he did with Page is stunning. I am thinking about buying tickets to see this at a local Casino.

I love that they've got Ready an' Willing and Gambler in the set. One of the benefits of having fans in the band.

I chose to skip the show, though, because Coverdale's voice is a mere shell of what it once was, and it was WAY overpriced.

How much was it? I saw them twice in 2011 and each was roughly 35 bucks.

Floor tickets were $75 plus fees. I've been a fan for a long time, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I saw them in Merrillville, IN a couple weeks back and would agree with the OP about the sound and David's voice - he didn't lose it for this show though. Though, in additon to having R&W and Gambler, we got Don't Break My Heart Again too! :-)

What a rip, they've never been worth that much, and I've seen them when he could actually sing(1987). Even back then I saw them open for Motley Crue, and they wasted one third of the set with solos, good one David.

Let's not be too harsh... Motley Crue on that tour, touring on their 4th album, did 3+ - count 'em - 3+ covers out of only 14 songs, Helter Skelter (along with the other songs in the medley of covers), Smokin', and Jailhouse Rock. adn this was in addition to the guitar and drum solos.

Typical set from that tour...

Why confusion? It's their latest album, why not play something from it? Good album too.

Lucky! It normally goes after the fourth song.

Maybe I was just hearing things, but I was at the Merrillville, IN show and thought that Coverdale sounded very strong. His voice never went out at that show.
