Opeth -- Stroudsburg, PA -- April 27th, 2013

Opeth and Katatonia at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA.

Katatonia was great as always although the setlist was way too short. It was nice to hear Burn the Remembrance but the lack of Strained is saddening. I really hope they come back later in the year for an actual headlining tour for Dead End Kings. The four new songs they did play were the same four they played last year on the Epic Kings and Idols tour so it would be nice to hear more. But they were awesome so I'm happy.

1. Buildings
2. Day and Then the Shade
3. My Twin
4. Burn the Remembrance
5. Teargas
6. The Racing Heart
7. Lethean
8. The Longest Year
9. July
10. Dead Letters
11. Forsaker

Opeth's set was a lot better than I expected it to be. The last three times I've seen them it's been iffy so it was a nice surprise. I'd never seen Häxprocess or Atonement live before so it was nice to hear some new songs. The acoustic version of Demon of the Fall however I think is horrible.

1. The Devil's Orchard
2. Ghost of Perdition
3. White Cluster
4. Hope Leaves
5. Atonement
6. Deliverance
7. Hessian Peel
8. Häxprocess
9. Demon of the Fall (acoustic)
10. Reverie/Harlequin Forest

11. Blackwater Park

This was my 10th time seeing Opeth. I originally wasn't planning to go to this show since I don't live anywhere near Stroudsburg. But after seeing the setlist from the first show of the tour I decided it was worth the trip. Ghost of Perdition, Deliverance, and Blackwater Park in the same show. And 3 songs I had never heard live before — Atonement, Haxprocess, and White Cluster. Plus Hessian Peel and Harlequin Forest. That's an awesome setlist! If there was a low point I'd say it was the acoustic version of Demon of the Fall, although in a way it was still kind of cool to hear.

Would you happen to have setlist times? Or just approx. how long each played for?

Opeth played from approximately 9:30 to 11:30.

Katatonia was scheduled to start at 8:00, but I didn't arrive at the venue until 8:30 so I can't say exactly when they started. But they finished around 8:50.

Everyone seems to really not like the acoustic version of Demon. I thinks it's great! Yes the original is better, but the acoustic version is really creative and sounds amazing.

I fully agree. It's different, but it's good.

Thank you for posting the set list. I've been deciding whether or not to go to the St. Petersburg show in Florida. This made up my mind that I'll skip it. There are only two Opeth songs I flat out hate: Orchard and Dirge for November. The chances they'd play either one, slim to none... Well, I guess not. Deliverance and BWP are my least favorite albums. I wish they'd pull BWP, Deliverance and Orchard from the set and replace them with: Karma, Nepenthe and a track off of Orchid or Morningrise.

Although, I've never seen Hessian and Häx live. That is almost tempting me to buy the ticket. But, I think I'll sit this one out. I could use to save the money! Thank you again for posting this set list!
