Taproot -- Jackson, MI -- March 29th, 2013

I caught the last 2 songs from a band form Lansing called Devereaux. They're pretty good.

Next up was another local band called Model Citizen. They were a mediocre rap-metal band.

Intertwined was next. They were pretty heavy, but just about average as a band.

Boy Hits Car was next, and they were GREAT! I'd definitely see them again.

HURT played next. I'd heard of them but never heard their music. Meh.

Taproot finally took the stage at 1:05am. This was the 1st date of their GIFT tour. They played the whole record straight through. It was awesome hearing songs like, "Comeback," "Now," and "1 Nite Stand." After they played GIFT they played "Day By Day" from the DRACULA 2000 soundtrack, but they said, "Do NOT go see the movie!" hahaha. I'll take their advice. Then they closed w/ "Poem." They had to be done by 2am, so I'm not sure if the set was cut short by a few songs or not. Two thumbs way down for the venue for booking way too many local bands. I think there were 6 locals total. I didn't get home til 3:30, so that sucked, but Taproot & Boy Hits Car both put on great sets.

Boy Hits Car. There's a name I haven't heard in over a decade. They did Lita's theme song for a while. Did they play that last night? I think it's called LoveFuryEnergyPassion.

I'd totally do this for nostalgia. Shit about so many opening bands and that they weren't on till 1. I bet they probably do more if it wasn't for curfew. Not gonna lie, I'd probably be as interested in seeing BHC.
