Original versions of the original trilogy, or 1997 Special Editions?

It's this. In Episode 1, Yoda is CGI and not a puppet.

Ah, I don't think that version has the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy. But the CGI Yoda is better than the beat-up looking puppet in the original Phantom Menace.

I've been watching the Clone Wars cartoon series with my son a lot this weekend (the Cartoon Network Clone Wars from 2003-2005). As well as playing a lot of Lego Star Wars on his Wii.

I still have the original trilogy on VHS. It was the last release before the 97 re-release.

That's a good thing to have. Those re-released versions had their moments but the butcher some parts. Han "dodging" Greedos shot. Fuck that was terrible. And I just hated what they did to the Scarrlac Pit. It was so much more menacing when it was just a hole.

I still have the original trilogy on VHS. Haven't watched it in ages though, it's just been sitting on shelf in my room untouched for years now. I didn't like Han dodging Greedo's shot and the edit to the Sarlacc either. That beak rising up from the pit made it seem more funny than frightening. The Sarlacc had some kind of mystery as to what lied beneath before that eggplant looking thing was edited in.

So did anybody read anything about the possibility of a Boba Fett movie? Only it won't really be Boba. Supposedly, they cut out Boba's back story and some bounty hunter kills him and steals his armor and the movie will be about this other person in Boba's outfit. I don't like this idea at all. A lot of fans have always wanted Boba to have his own movie and this is what they're thinking of doing?

Han dodging greedo = dumb
sarlacc pit = kinda cool
ring of fire in explosions = fuck all yall that shit ruled
Scene where Luke and Biggs meet before the death star = why the hell wasn't that in the original? The moments were certain pilots died actually had weight to them.

If that's true about Boba Fett then there's the first bit of continuity they've abolished. Boba Fett is alive and well as far as 44 ABY, in book land.
