Ben Folds - Ben Folds Live

Emaline

If I was putting these albums in order by how important they are to me and how much I listened to them, this album would probably on top. Although I had his first album before getting this album, this is probably what put me over the edge in my obsession that is Ben Folds. Just him and a piano (accompanied by the vocalist for Cake for one song) and I wouldn't have it any other way. This is how I learned about Ben Folds Five and the version of "Emaline" here is one of my favorite songs ever. I can sing this entire album to you.

Anaal Nathrakh - Total Fucking Necro

Ice Blasting Storm Winds
Carnage (Mayhem Cover)
Satanarchrist

This is Anaal Nathrakh back when they were pretty much purely black metal. There are just too many great songs here, of which six have been re-recorded and released on subsequent records. There are even two Mayhem covers that I much prefer over the originals. If you're mentally unstable and don't think Anaal Nathrakh has enough of a black metal sound now, check them out here!

Puppets and Rust are great but there are better Maiden albums.

At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul

Full Album

My favorite death metal album ever. The best melodic death metal album ever. One of the best 10 heavy metal albums ever released. I don't get anyone who says this is mediocre or a bad album. This is leaps and bounds ahead of anything else like it in terms of aggression and musicality even though it remains full of melody and is totally unique. If you can make it past the first two songs without breaking your neck from headbanging, the rest of the album is just as good.

The version of Satanachrist off this album is mint!

from the last few albums...

RTL, Show No Mercy, Heaven & Hell, Among The Living, Toxicity, Seasons, RIP and Puppets are all masterpieces

NOTB is too but there are no better album out there imho. Happy at least to see it on your list

I enjoy way more the self title over Battle Of Los Angeles but still is a great release

I enjoy some Sleep, Celtic Frost & Judas Priest but at low doses and by no means they are even on my top 50 bands

I've tried a few Anal Nathrakh songs over the past year or so just because you seem to loved them so much. It's fucking angry chaos but I can't say I dislike it. They're a bit extreme for my taste but really not bad, that Ice Blasting Storm Winds song is great.

I enjoyed a bit of Blind Guardian for maybe a year and even went to see them in concert once but that didn't last long. I don't like them anymore or any power metal band for that matter

the rest I don't know

great job keep it up !

Cheers !

The Strokes - Is This It?

The Modern Age
Someday
Last Nite

In a way, this might be the album responsible for the huge wave of hipsters being lo-fi garage shit on purpose. But of course, The Strokes do this sort of throwback garage rock better than almost anyone. Split almost evenly between high energy and chillout tracks, it's perfect for any mood.

Green Day - International Superhits!

Full Album

A history lesson for some of our younger readers: if you can believe it, Green Day used to be solid pop-punk, more on the punk side of things. And before that, they were straight-up punk as fuck! This comp pretty much focuses on all the hits they had prior to 2001 and is perfect for anyone looking for some of the most finely-crafted 90s pop punk. No one could touch Green Day during the 90s, and it literally causes me physical sickness when I think about what they've become since then.
